ABOUT VYE GRAPHICS
Vye Graphics (Pty) Ltd can trace their history back to 1911 when William Vye started a company called “William Vye Signs”. In 1934, he was joined by his two sons, Cyril and Bill Vye. They changed the company name to “Vysigns” to be more inclusive of the three family members.
Geoff Vye (Son of Cyril Vye) joined the team in 1954, at age 16 years where he was to complete a five-year apprenticeship, which he managed to complete in three years. Family differences led Geoff to start his own company in 1962 called “Geoff Vye for Signs” where he serviced a large portion of Namibia, the Garden Route and as far as East London. He carried out work for companies like Coca-Cola – Export, Five Roses Tea, Rembrandt Company, Benson & Mitchel (Joko Tea) to name but a few.
In 1989, they changed the name to be “Vye Graphics” to be more inclusive of the rapidly growing digital world, where they invested in a machine to cut out vinyl, reducing his workload, as writing on signs was time-consuming and a dying art.
Geoff and Jette retired to the Karoo in 2005, where the company was run by various managers. In 2014, Pia “Vye” Watermeyer (Geoff’s daughter) took over the company to be the 4th generation with an interest in this industry.
She has invested in the latest large graphic printing/ cutting equipment to continue the growth of Vye Graphics in this fast and exciting industry.
Vye Graphics pride themselves on the vast scope of work that they produce, from screen printing, to really large digital photo, vehicle branding etc.
