JUST SOME THINGS TO KNOW WHEN SENDING THROUGH YOUR ARTWORK

We can use and access the following file types :

  • Photoshop (.psd)
  • Acrobat PDF (.pdf)
  • Adobe Illustrator (.ai)
  • Coreldraw (.cdr)

File resolution should be at least 150dpi for large format print jobs (ie. banners, billboards, large canvas prints) at full size or 300dpi for small format print jobs (ie. stickers, car brand signage, flags, small canvas posters & custom wallpaper.)

This is an image of an eye on very low dpi, 150px to be exact.
Lower DPI (150) is acceptable for billboards or very large prints
This is an image of an eye on very high dpi, 300px to be exact.
Higher DPI (300) allows for higher quality prints on small types of media

Bleeds are required to ensure that your art has no white space on the edges after being trimmed. There are only 2 different sizes for bleeds required on the art that we receive.

  • For large format prints +5mm bleed all round the art
  • For small format prints +3mm bleed all round the art
This is a cutout for Vye Graphics, showing the cut lines around their logo.

Media that was created in either Abobe Illustrator or Coreldraw and saved in their native file formats is generally vector based files.

These can be scaled to any size and will retain its quality. It does make it easier for us when we receive files in it’s raw format to allow for good quality printwork. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require more information or assistance.

File Transfer

If the art is small enough, below 10MB, you can email us the file to art@vyegraphics.co.za. Should it be larger we will share a Dropbox folder with you were you can upload your files to (limited to maximum 100MB), you would be required to signup for a free Dropbox account to access this.

This is the icon used to display Dropbox on the Vye Graphics website.
